Susan Boyle - Susan Boyle's Licence Fee Fears As Media Descended
28 May 2013
Scottish singer Susan Boyle feared she had forgotten to pay her Tv licence fee when a fleet of satellite dish-topped vans descended on her home following herBritain's Got Talent audition.
Boyle shot to overnight fame in 2009 when she appeared on the U.K. talent show and stunned the audience and judges with her note-perfect rendition of I Dreamed A Dream.
She was at her home in Scotland when her headline-grabbing audition was broadcast for the first time, and she was so stunned when she opened the curtains the following day to see outside broadcast vans lining the street that she feared she had been caught watching Tv without a licence.
Boyle tells British magazine Ok!, "It was surreal... The next day there were satellite trucks lining the street. When the first one turned up I thought it was the Tv licence van, I was fretting I'd forgotten to pay my licence! Before I could take a breath there were people from Oprah and Good Morning America on my doorstep wanting to talk to me. It was bizarre."
