SuBo, who rose to fame after appearing on Britain's Got Talent, took on the task of picking up the baton, which contains a message from the Queen, outside Yorkhill Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Glasgow.
Crowds gathered in the host city's West End to watch the 53-year-old singer pick up the baton before she took it inside to show to children on one of the wards.
Susan said she was delighted to spend time with the little patients.
"It was good to bring the Commonwealth Games to them because they don't get a chance to see it, so we're bringing it to them," she said.
Talking about the international sporting festival, she said: "Bring it on. I'm very excited and very pleased it's in Glasgow as well."
But the I Dreamed A Dream hit maker kept her lips sealed about the opening ceremony, where she will perform among others including Rod Stewart, Amy MacDonald and violinist Nicola Benedetti.
She said: "Watch this space, that's all I am willing to say."
The baton has already made its way through the Commonwealth, visiting its 71 nations and surrounding areas in the run-up to the sporting event, which occurs every four years.

A total of 400 baton bearers will carry it round Glasgow, before it arrives at Celtic Park on Wednesday evening, where the Queen will read the special message contained inside.
Over 4,500 athletes including six-time Olympic champion Usain Bolt will be taken part in the games until August 3.
