Susan Boyle was in London on Monday (October 28) to launch her extra special Christmas single: O Come, All Ye Faithful – a duet with Elvis Presley.
The former Britain’s Got Talent star is the first British artist ever to have a posthumous duet with the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll feature on their album, and being a massive Elvis fan, Susan is thrilled at the honour.
With a cheeky glint in her eye, she told STV’s Showbuzz presenter, Laura Boyd: “The duet and the single is called O’Come, All Ye Faithful and it’s been nicknamed ‘The King and I ’... because I’m just getting to know what I’m doing!”
As well as being Susan’s debut into the singles chart; the track is very important to the Scot, as the proceeds will go to Save the Children – the charity Susan has just become an ambassador of.
She told Laura: “It’s very close to my heart, especially in the educational field, as some children feel like they are being left behind, for some reason.”
Susan spoke fondly of what Christmas means in the Boyle household, explaining that she goes to church and enjoys a family meal, along with a spot of singing. And what will she be asking Santa for this year?
Susan admits that she already has everything she needs, but was pretty taken by the adorable St. Bernard Puppy, who was lying in amongst the winter wonderland set for the single launch. Take note Simon Cowell.
Speaking of Simon... Susan’s record will be in the running to take on the X Factor single, in the battle to be Christmas number one.
