Post from Nelan 6

Just saw this post on the JE amazon forum.  The poster works in the music industry, PR for opera artists as far as I can tell. The discussion was about radio play for Jackie:

The closest traditional vocalist to "pop" values is Susan Boyle, who uses some of the production and singing techniques. But even she doesn't meet the standards required to be played on "pop" radio. There has to be a driving beat, even if it's slow, and she doesn't have that. (Actually, "pop" radio really doesn't exist in that form anymore. It's now "mix" radio, primarily, or R&B or Adult Contemporary, or Hot Adult Contemporary, etc.)

Boyle's CD, like Jackie's, doesn't really fit, based on industry standards.

Have you ever received any feedback about this problem from Susan's team/Sony/Syco?  I thought it was ironic how Susan has been doing UK radio spots for the past 6 weeks or so, and still not being played on the very stations she's talking with!   How weird.  skye
